Disclosures.
The regulatory language that governs how I describe the firm and the arrangement.
Registration
Life Story Wealth Planning LLC is an investment adviser registered with the State of Arizona (Arizona Corporation Commission, Securities Division). Registration does not imply a certain level of skill or training. The firm is not registered with the SEC, and neither the firm nor Alex Hilbert is a broker-dealer or a registered representative of one.
All content on this site is intended for U.S. residents in the states in which the firm is properly registered, or exempt from registration, to conduct business. The firm does not provide advisory services in any state where it is neither registered nor exempt.
No investment advice
Nothing on this site constitutes investment, tax, or legal advice, an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security, or a recommendation of any kind. Booking a call or sending a message does not create an advisory relationship. Advice is provided only under a signed advisory agreement, after you have received the firm's Form ADV Part 2A brochure.
Qualified clients and account minimum
The firm's fee is a performance-based fee, which is available only to "qualified clients" as defined in SEC Rule 205-3 and applicable state rules. Effective June 29, 2026, a qualified client generally has at least $1,400,000 under management with the firm immediately after signing the advisory agreement, or a net worth of more than $2,700,000, alone or together with a spouse, excluding the value of a primary residence. These thresholds are adjusted for inflation about every five years.
The minimum account size is $1,400,000. The firm may reduce or waive the minimum case by case, but every client must meet the qualified client standard.
Fiduciary standard and fees
As a registered investment adviser, the firm acts as a fiduciary and is required to place client interests ahead of its own. The firm charges no asset-based management fee. It charges a performance-based fee of 30% of net gains (after transaction costs) that exceed both the account's high water mark and a cumulative hurdle of 1.5% per quarter. The hurdle grows by 1.5% for each quarter since the high water mark was set: 1.5% after one quarter, 3.0% after two, 4.5% after three, and so on.
Fees are calculated and billed quarterly, in arrears, and deducted from the client's account at the custodian as the client authorizes in writing. Brokerage commissions, margin interest, fund expenses, and other third-party costs are separate. A performance-based fee can create an incentive to take more risk; Form ADV Part 2A, Items 5 and 6, describes the fee and this conflict in full. The Fees page explains the structure in plain language.
Custody
The firm does not hold client funds or securities. Client accounts are held in the client's own name at Interactive Brokers LLC, an independent, unaffiliated custodian that the firm requires clients to use. The firm has discretionary authority to manage the account. Its only authority to move money out of an account is the deduction of the advisory fee, which the client authorizes in writing and which appears on the custodian's statements. Clients should compare those statements with any reports the firm provides. The Custody page describes the arrangement.
Investment risks
All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of the money you invest. The firm's Tzur Magen process may buy and sell call and put options, hold limited futures positions, take short and long/short spread positions, and use margin accounts. These carry risks beyond those of owning stocks and bonds: options can expire worthless, futures are leveraged and can lose more than the amount committed, short positions have no ceiling on potential loss, and the custodian can liquidate margin positions without notice.
Portfolios are concentrated in a limited number of asset classes at any given time and are traded frequently, which raises transaction costs and tends to produce short-term capital gains in taxable accounts. Any strategy, including this one, may not work as intended. Form ADV Part 2A, Item 8, describes these risks in full.
Past performance and illustrations
Past performance does not guarantee future results. Nothing on this site is a claim of past or expected performance for any strategy the firm runs. Diagrams on the Fees page illustrate how the fee is calculated; they are not actual or projected results. Third-party events and figures referenced on the site are attributed and dated, and they are illustrative, not representative of client outcomes.
Verification
The firm's Form ADV and Alex Hilbert's background are public record on the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure website, which also hosts records for state-registered advisers, and on FINRA BrokerCheck. Direct links are in the footer of every page. A copy of the current Form ADV Part 2A is available on request.
